For preparation of soft tissue homogenates, such as liver or brain. Grinders are available with smooth pestles or serrated pestles, which disperse homogenate into the mortar cylinder more effectively. Depth of radial serrations is 0.508-0.635mm (0.020-0.025").
All pestles are made of fluoropolymer resin with a 6.4mm (1/4") diameter stainless steel shaft. Smooth or serrated pestles are available. Radius at pestle bottom conforms to radius in bottom of grinding chamber. Grinding chamber is made of low extractable borosilicate glass. Chamber clearance is 0.102-0.152mm (0.004-0.006"). Autoclavable. Parts are interchangeable.
Glass meets ASTM Type 1 Class A and USP Type 1 standards.
