The Primary Arms SLx Flip-To-Side Magnifier Mount is designed to place your magnifier at 1.41 inches above the top of the picatinny rail. CNP (Castle Nut Punch) is a dedicated castle nut staking punch, while it can do double duty as a golf tee or Van Helsing's EDC, it was designed for a singular purpose, that is to displace material from an AR15/M16 end plate into the castle nut's staking notches.

Machined from D2 steel, heat treated and finished in black oxide, CNP has a broad / flared top to provide a stable striking surface. It also has widely spaced and aggressive serrations to ensure the user's hands, gloved or ungloved, will not lose their grip.

CNP was originally designed to have a rectangular tip, it was subsequently abandoned, and we went to a round tip. A rectangular tip can be very unforgiving of tip placement, and the sharp edge and corners of a rectangular tip can be rapidly and more easily deformed and most importantly, we don't see any advantage of a square stake over a round stake a conventional punch produces. Given the host of problems a rectangular tip has and what it brings to the table (nothing), it was an easy decision to redesign CNP to have a round tip.

Forward Controls Design produced a handful of candidate tips with different sharpness and angles, and decided on 52.5 degrees angle with a sharp tip. Each prototype was tested for ease of use, and effectiveness of the angle and sharpness. The design also changed from a rather long and larger diameter body to one with a shorter length smaller diameter. With the original design, we believed the larger contact area would obviate the need for serrations. Since the redesign now has a smaller diameter, serrations were added to provide positive grip on the CNP.

NOTE:

CNP is an instrument, it should be maintained, i.e. oiled now and then.

Know your end plates. Forward Controls Design advises that you find out how your end plate is treated. TDP spec end plate is made in 1018 or 1020 low carbon steel, and for good reasons. Nitrided end plates are very difficult to stake, we avoid nitrided end plates when possible, it's exceedingly and unnecessarily hard, and may blunt the punch's tip prematurely.

If you're not familiar with staking castle nuts, please consult or bring it to a qualified gunsmith. If you ugga dugga and wield the mallet like Thor, you can risk punching through the end plate and damaging your receiver extension. We are not responsible for the consequences resulting from misusing and/or abusing of tools.

DPW (Dual Purpose Wrench) is a dual purpose wrench that logically combines two of the most often used AR15/M16 armorer tools in small and light weight package, with a 3/4in wrench optimized for suppressor mounts with 3/4 flats (also compatible with A2 spec 3/4in flats) on one end, and a 3 lug castle nut wrench on the other.

Instead of a large and heavy armorer's wrench that does all acceptably well but in practice, most users only use 2 or 3 functions on it, we prefer compact, dedicated wrenches optimized for the tasks they're designed to handle exceptionally well. JCW (Joint Castle nut Wrench), JMW (Joint Muzzle devices Wrench), CBW (Combination Barrel nut wrench) are all examples of compact, light and finely machined tools.

DPW largely follows the form factor of these dedicated wrenches, it breaks from the FCD tools convention by having two different functions that are not necessarily related to one another: a 3/4in muzzle devices wrench, and a castle nut wrench, two of the often used functions of an armorer's wrench.

The 3/4in muzzle devices wrench is thinner than that found on an armorer's wrench, the thinner profile enables it get into tight spaces. The 3 lug castle nut wrench fits snug and securely on in spec, TDP spec castle nuts

DPW is small and light enough to be carried full time in a pack, an application a 12in long, 1.9lb armorer's wrench woud be ill suited for. Though it wasn't originally designed to be a portable armorer's wrench, its size, weight and practicality fit the mission profile.

DPW is designed for use with a torque wrench with a 1/2 drive socket, with a soft contour that's pleasant in the user's hands.

Machined from a solid block, heat treated and black oxide coated, DPW is a joint project between Revival Defense and FCD.

Forward Controls Design's Joint Muzzle device Wrench takes the complexity out of changing out AR-15 muzzle devices. Billet machined from 4140, the JMW is a double sided muzzle wrench that has a 3/4 wrench with a 0.23 thickness that works with the standard A2 compensator, and on the other end has another 3/4 wrench with a 0.20 thickness. The slightly thinner end is designed to interface with a multitude of different muzzle devices.

Fits: Dead Air's Keymo, Key Micro suppressor mounts, and Surefire suppressor mounts.

The Joint Muzzle device Wrench is designed to be used with a torque wrench on 1/2 drive. To aid in applying the right amount of pressure, the JMW's recommended torque values (20 to 30 ft/lb) are engraved on the wrench.
