Whatman Grade No. 42 Ashless Paper quantifies a wide range of oils, neutral acids, aldehydes, nitric acids, acetic acid, rosins, acetyls, butanols, ethers, and alkalis. The basis weight of a Whatman No. 42 Ashless Paper quantifies the weight of the oil removed, not including the amount of water used in the process. Whatman No. 42 Ashless Paper is used in the separation of oils and/or nitrates from other industrial wastes. Its ashless quality allows the user to dispense with the use of ash and harmful gases. Grading is easy to read on the basis sheet. Whatman No. 42 Ashless Paper is supplied in boxes of 100. Ashless paper may be used in Whatman Grade No. 42 Ashless Paper Stands, which are ashless and without ash.
