The 102E Borosilicate Glass Balls offer good service in many laboratory environments. The appropriate size will depend on the type of apparatus used, the temperature, the solution, or any combination of conditions. Borosilicate glass is a relatively inexpensive, virtually maintenance-free material, usually consisting of a few small bubbles surrounded by a uniform layer of glass. The easiest method to obtain the 102E Borosilicate Glass Balls is through a glass furnace. After the forming process is complete, the glass ball is fired in a few seconds, giving rise to a brown ball. Borosilicate glass is also much more likely to absorb acids or bases, making it an excellent choice for the storage of chemical solutions.
