These Bel-Art VWR Spinbar Stir Bars work with round magnetic stirring rods, such as those used in heating ovens or large round magnetic stirring bars like those found on exercise equipment. Bel-Art knows that good stir bars mix and stir, and these stir bars offer excellent centering and smooth running characteristics. Its pivot ring minimizes the contact area of the bar to the vessel, reduces friction, and lessens marring of plastic containers. These bars are very strong, and the magnets are located on the ends of the bars in such a way as to maximize their contact with magnetic stirring coils without transmitting any of their strength to the stirring bar. As a bonus, these bars help generate electricity by the use of a motor, although you can generate electricity without a motor.
