All rotors are easily removable from the reel by removing the orange retainer ring and inserting the rotor into the space between the retainer and the reel. Using the tie-down loops at each end of the rotor are attached to a reusable center axle. The whole rotator is ideally suited for easy sample retrieval and to prevent cross contamination of adjacent samples. Specifically designed to draw dyes downward through the dye rather than across the membrane surface, this improves visualization while avoiding cross contamination. Compared to a traditional filter paper, which is often absorbed by the dyestuff, this reduces the possibility of cross contamination and loss of sensitive samples. Unlike filters, which are trapped in the matrix of the inserted dye, the LabSort yields a more consistent and predictable drying profile. It exhibits excellent recovery of active color standards as well as excellent recovery and recovery over the entire run. Each record enables clear visual assessment of sample quality by allowing only the dyes to be extracted through the dye rather than allowing the dye to spread. The dye is stable throughout the entire run and easy to identify by color.
