These round-bottom flasks are suitable for storing and transporting blood and other biological fluids. The gentle round shape makes them easy to dispense. They are made of HDPE, and have a wide-mouth design with a polyethylene plug valve. The plug valve provides a tight seal with the container, and eliminates any possibility of a gasket or seal breakage. The polyethylene plug valve, with or without a polyethylene plug valve, is used to seal the container, and the container plug valve is used to release the product from the container. Polyethylene HDPE is recommended for use in cleanrooms, and for sterilization processes that use vacuums. It should not be used for hot cell culture procedures, because autoclaving may damage the product.
