The Boston Tough Housing, with its added insulation, improves the heat transfer properties of all plastics, making this type of housing more suitable for use with warm chemical processes. The additional insulation improves the heat transfer even more, making this housing more efficient than originally designed. The outer surface of the wall of the boston is fully tapered allowing for maximum heat transfer. This improves the heat transfer surface by minimizing the interface area of the boston with the surrounding environment. The outer surface of the boston is fully insulated with a unique polyethylene coating containing perforations for optimum heat transfer even when the upper and lower halves of the vessel are packed with a powder layer.
