Avoid cross contamination of media when diluting a sample with a permeated solution. The STOPCOCK with PTFE disk effectively prevents a sample from recontaminating the stopcock. The additional PTFE disk effectively withstands the acids, alkalies, and organic solvents used in the procedure. The STOPCOCK w/PTFE disk serves as a reliable filter element to prevent contaminate leakage from a filtered sample to the environment. A PTFE disk is inserted into the stopcock and allowed to adsorb to the absorbent pad. After the sample has been diluted to the desired concentration, the STOPCOCK may be removed by turning the black disk. The STOPCOCK may then be placed in the water bath to complete the digestion. After sedimentation, a syringe of color indicators is inserted into the dye-transfer tube to show whether the filter has been filtered or not.
