Garmin NMEA 2000 Multi-port T-connector 010-11078-01
Estimated delivery between October 28 and October 30.
Why is it that when I need a T-connector with a high degree of precision, Garmin Multi-port T-connectors save me time and trouble? Because a T-connector has at least three port options, you can plumb one end of the connector and power it up from the other (typically located on the NMEA 2000 network). Any errors, misfires, or other network communication problems caused by the T-connector not being precise enough, causes the NMEA 2000 network to malfunction. A simple workaround is to simply remove the appropriate T-connector from the back of the boat and plug it into the back of the T-connector. Any further information will result in a poor connection. Any errors or misfires that you see on the screen display of the T-connector indicate that the T-connector is faulty. This issue does not seem to be specific to the Multi-Port T-connectors, as all NMEA 2000 compliant equipment in the network will show up as errors on the screen rather than the display. This indicates that the source of the problem is the NMEA 2000 network, not the T-connectors.
