The Bel-Art Cylinders - TPX have been designed to be a lightweight and easy-to-pour containment vessel for acids, alkalis, and bases. The nonwetting surface of these cylinders helps prevent a concave meniscus, thus improving the accuracy of volumetric calculations. The raised numeral, single scale graduations are easy to read, and the TPX cyclinder is shatter-proof with a wide octagonal base to prevent tipping and rolling. In addition to these general properties, the TPX cyclinder has a number of other desirable properties. For example, it is denser than TPX glass and has a significantly higher melting point than TPX. It exhibits practically no shrinkage when exposed to heat. And, unlike many cylinders, it will not react with acids or alkalis. So, this cylinder can be used as a stand-up incubator with the head removed or with the base removed.
