The Thermo Scientific/Advantech 12" Sieve has a stainless steel woven wire cloth and a brass frame. Thermo Scientific offers a wide range of precision testing sieves, also called laboratory sieves, for various applications in the life sciences, geology, materials research, environmental testing, and geochemistry. Regardless of size, these Sieves through their uniform square-woven wire cloth, require less cleaning than stamped or woven sieves because less material is lost in the process of opening and closing the sieve apertures. The drawback of stamped sieves is that they need to be cleaned after each test, increasing the amount of material lost in the process. This is especially critical when testing high volumes of powders or other materials with bridging materials. The reason for the less frequent cleaning is that they prolong the life of the sieve shaft, which reduces the amount of material retained in the netting. Also a cleaned sieve will allow for easier and faster testing.
